Talk about a bleeding heart, huh?
So...I'm working on a Morishige cosplay.
Don't have the right shirt or wig yet, but I'm making this Valentine my teaser.
If you look in my gallery, you will see I'm just the kind of person to make the more morbid Valentines.
For those who do not know Corpse Party, SPOILERS!!! Because of the basic concept of the image.
Far down enough to not care about spoilers? Ok, good.
The basic premise of Corpse Party (a video games series) is that these students perform a charm, supposedly to keep them friends forever, that sends them to a ghostly dimension where long-dead toddlers from a cursed elementary school kill everyone one by one, adding to the building's overall entity of negativity.
The heart here, Mayu, was one of the first to die because she as naive enough to trust the ghosts and try to be friends with them. She was thrown against a wall at superhuman speed, making her corpse a bloody, unrecognizable mess. Her best friend/possible-boyfriend Morishige spent most of the game looking for her, though he slowly started to go insane.
Morishige became dependent on looking at the misfortune of others, poking at the rotting bodies littering the halls and admiring the death all around him, taking numerous pictures with his cell phone. The one he admires most, ironically, was Mayu's because of how pathetic and embarrassing it looked for whoever it was that died.
Mayu couldn't "move on" because the dimension is completely cut off from both heaven and the human world - all who die are trapped there...so everyone. When Mayu sees him looking at her remains through his cell phone (added to that he was digging through her body earlier as well), she calls him, photo viewer still open, and tell him not to look at her insides. With this realization, Morishige loses what little sanity he retained and commits suicide.
What I did here was use what I had to spark this Valentine idea: at my college, on one of the bulletin boards, there was a place to take these realistic-heart-shaped papers to turn into Valentines. To use a real heart as a Valentine would have been interesting! I thought back to Corpse Party and figured Mayu's heart would have been among her remains, so why not?
Crossing over the gore from the video game, showing the blood in the cosplay but replacing the heart with a token of the holiday, was something I hope is pretty original.
You guys like?
I do not own Corpse Party.
I do not own the stamp base used to make this - I saved it from a long time ago, don't ask for the creator. Credit to that person.
