This card is a representation of my team used to complete my first time through Sinnoh, in Platinum.
I'm not worried that my FC is showing in this image because it really is useless information unless I add the other person in return. Beside each FC, however, I include a sprite of the first shiny found in the region and any and all evolutions I put it through. As it happens, I later used a fan server called "Poké Classic Network" to provide myself with wifi-capabilities some time after I was already made champion. The intent was originally to touch-trade version-exclusive pokémon so that I would unlock the shiny Haxorus event in White 2, but it worked for all Gen 4 & 5 games. For Platinum, as well as White and White 2, it also enabled me to obtain all of the long-defunct Mystery Gift wi-fi events. So oddly, for Platinum, my first shinies obtained were Raikou, Entei, Suicune, Milotic, & the "Pikachu-Colored Pichu", obtained March 11th, 2023.
The Team:
Infernape - What can I say? I have a bit of a Fire-Type bias. Nicknamed Flame Star.
Kadabra - Pretty useful in-game trade for an Abra, I believe. Only downside is that, at the time I played through Platinum, the Nintendo Wi-Fi network is down for the older generations and I couldn't touch-trade to make it an Alakazam.
Lucario - You give me a Riolu egg, I'll use it!
Togekiss - You give me a Togepi egg, I'll use it!
Leafeon - I thought I would just progress naturally through the game with an Eevee and see what it evolves into. My favorite Eeveelution, after all, is Espeon. However, I didn't watch where I was and it evolved into Leafeon. Well, that was the risk with the experiment I made.
Floatzel - I needed a Pokémon nearby that could learn Surf and Waterfall... turned out surprising useful when taking on the Elite Four!
